From 2001-2007, Professor Martin Renilson led a number of major defence projects in the UK, including two concerning the hydrodynamics of submarines. One of these was a collaborative venture with the national military research organisations in France, Italy, Norway and the UK.
- Advice on hydrodynamics research needed to support the new submarines (DSTO).
- Seakeeping assessments for various vessels.
- Damage and intact stability investigations.
